Position Summary

Your work will create meaningful social impact in the community, and help advance the City’s newly created corporate innovation strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships, the Innovation Analyst is responsible for the ongoing research, data monitoring, analysis, development, documentation, and implementation of the City’s newly created corporate innovation strategy. The position will assist in the formulation of policies, project implementations and in the preparation of reports and presentations to support the development of a corporate culture that rewards innovation.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**Note this is a temporary position covering full-time hours for up to 24 months**

Engage with employees and stakeholders to understand their business needs. Responsible to identify, test and pilot new solutions.

Develop an internal and external continuous engagement platform, an innovation network, and an internal data/content repository.

Responsible to present information and provide innovation educational and training to employees at all levels and across the corporation.

Interpret departmental business strategies and determine innovative solutions to support strategy implementation using service practices that meet customer and corporate needs.

Conduct audits at regular intervals to track innovation within the organization.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Competencies

4 year degree education in applied science, arts, business or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

3+ years’ experience of managing projects, including 1-2 years’ experience leading innovation related projects.

Proven track record of implementing and sustaining change within an organization preferred.

Experience of managing multiple stakeholders (internal and external) and maintaining relationships with employees at all levels of the organization preferred.

Certification or equivalent training in Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Project Management and Process Improvement preferred.

Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence others

Strong, effective customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a team environment, liaise with key stakeholders and to function effectively with minimal supervision

Advanced computer skills including MS Office

Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multi-task

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and interpret information

Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to formulate solutions to complex issues

Ability to successfully manage projects and deliver results with minimum supervision

Knowledge and application of qualitative and quantitative data analysis

Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check.

Must demonstrate Corporate Competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.
