Position Summary

Represent the city as a front-line employee for a wide range of municipal services;

Deliver services over the telephone as well as in a written format such as e-mail, in a call center environment;

Handle general inquires on municipal services and programs;

Process information, complaint handling and resolution;

Perform in a professional, courteous manner at all times and maintain a professional level of conduct.

Qualifications, Competencies

Diploma in public relations, business administration or equivalent;

Three years experience working in a customer driven, service delivery position;

Demonstrated work experience in conflict resolution, creative problem solving, resourcefulness, negotiating for success and influencing others;

Call Centre experience;

Knowledge of French is considered an asset;

Must demonstrate the corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Oriented, Integrity and Teamwork.

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands

Must be team-oriented, flexible and able to communicate effectively;

Superior interpersonal skills both verbal and written;

Excellent keyboarding skills with data entry experience utilizing a variety of billing systems and software programs;

Committed to continuous self-improvement;

Knowledge of the City of Kingston municpal services and programs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Police Check) at your own expense.
