Position Summary

Attend in-service training;

Maintenance and cleaning of pool and change rooms;

Ensure all regulations and policies are adhered to;

Ensure pool meets all Ministry of Health regulations;

Ensure health and safety procedures are a priority;

Exhibit outstanding public relations skills in all interactions;

Teach Red Cross / Lifesaving Society lessons;

Provide a fun and safe aquatic environment for patrons.

Qualifications, Competencies

MUST CURRENTLY BE ENROLLED IN FULL-TIME SECONDARY OR POST SECONDARY STUDIES;

One year experience as a Lifeguard / Instructor.

Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, NLS Lifeguard, Lifesaving Society Instructor and WHMIS certification;

Standard First Aid and CPR-C certificate required;

Automated External Defibrillator Certification (AED) and Aqua Fitness Certification an asset;

Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands

Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check will be required by the successful candidates at their own expense;

High 5 (PHCD) – Principals of Healthy Child Development Certification an asset;

Strong communications skills both verbally and in writing;

Proven customer service skills.
