Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Community and Family Services Supervisor you will provide clerical support to Community and Family Services Programs and work units.

Process customer service inquiries, schedule appointments, general office duties including reception, switchboard, data processing, client/service provider payment/recoveries processing, document and file preparation and management.

Qualifications, Competencies

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent in education;

One Year Post Secondary Program in human services or office administration or an acceptable equivalent in education;

1 – 2 Years related clerical experience in a complex, and fast paced work environment, government or human service agency preferred;

Experience in bookkeeping, finance and data entry desirable;

Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands

Typing 40 w.p.m. (tested) and Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel Tested), Mathematical skills;

Verbal French Language Skills is a definite asset;

Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and to learn and perform duties of a variety of assignments;

Strong interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills;

Observance of strict confidentiality required with knowledge of conflict resolution and interventions;

Ability to manage difficult customer service interactions;

Knowledge of Provincial Social Assistance Technologies (SDMT, OCCMS, YARDI) desirable;

Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Drivers License;

A satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Police Check) will be required by the successful candidate at their own expense.
