Provide quality resident-centered care and front-line clinical leadership by coordinating the activities of health care staff;
Assess the health status and care needs of residents and effectively evaluate measures required to meet resident needs;
Dispense medications and treatments to residents in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Standards and Regulations; provide responsible safekeeping of medication room cart and keys;
Ensure continuity of care through accurate and complete verbal and written reports including computerized resident records and charting systems, in accordance with established standards;
Provide direct personal care in cooperation with other members of the care team;
Actively promote and follow safe work practices such as transfer techniques and the use of good body mechanics;
Identify and report safety hazards through close observation and regular safety inspections.
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education;
Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN;
Completion of medication administration course approved for Ontario;
Two to three years of related experience;
Palliative care and Dementia care training is preferred;
Demonstrated skill and interest in gerontology and willingness to participate in the implementation of care leading to excellence in resident outcomes;
Experience with Goldcare software is an asset;
Demonstrated ability to interact with seniors in a caring and respectful manner;
Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers, other health care disciplines and residents of the Home;
Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills;
Meets the requirements of “competent person” as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
Able to maintain good physical condition to meet the essential duties of the work;
Must be available to work days, evenings, night and weekends;
Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Reference Check) at your own expense;
Evidence of a TB test and annual flu shot is required.
